Since then, Takeuchi has been regarded as one of the most influential artists in the city pop genre, while Yamashita has been labelled as the king of city pop. ‘Plastic Love’ was written and sung by Mariya Takeuchi and produced by her husband, Tatsuro Yamashita, in 1984.
